I have had the privilege of being invited onto Nick Coffers ‘Weekend Kitchen’ on BBC 3 Counties Radio a few times and I thought it would be fun to share a few behind the scenes photos. If you want to listen to the show on iPlayer click here and it will be available until Saturday 28th June.
What normally happens is that 3 guests are invited on the show and between us we provide 8 dishes that we all taste and talk about. It’s a bit like going for an 8 course tasting menu……that has 5 puddings. The other 2 guests were Adam who is chef at Gilbey’s Old Amersham and Jenny Barber who helps run the Buckinghamshire branch of the Clandestine Cake Club.
The 3 guests arrive loaded up with bags and boxes of food and then the fun begins! First off was Adams smoked fish cannelloni, which was delicious! See how nicely he plated it up for us?! I was halfway through before I remembered to take the photo, I was enjoying it so much.
I did feel a bit sorry for Adam though, he was on a radio show with two, er how shall I say it, chatty ladies and he couldn’t get a word in edgeways! The show takes a couple of hours to record and Nick has to juggle linking the segments and making sure the show keeps to time. He does find the time though, to eat a piece of my crumble cake – recipe here!

All in all it’s a fun day out, I just need to fit in about 17 body pump classes though to burn off that 8 course meal!
